The way this spread works (in brief):
Starting with the Wheel of Fortune, one shuffles and picks and additional seven cards while keeping the wheel seperated and face up. After dealing the cards face down, the Wheel is added to the seven cards face down and the cards are shuffled. They’re then dealt out into four positions. Cards 1 and 4 make up the first pile in the top left, cards 2 and 6 make up the second corner in the top right, cards 3 and 7 are the third position in the bottom left and cards 4 and 8 complete the square in the forth position.
The positions each give an answer. #1 is Yes, #2 is Soon, #3 is Delay and #4 is No. If the answer is Delay or No, you may reveiw the cards for guidence (see the original posts for your “How To”). I always review the cards anyway for guidence and use what I would suppose would be “traditional” tarot meanings.
This was the first time I got a “Yes”. Every other time I tried this spread (I’ve been using it every few weeks since it was presented in the blogosphere) the answer was “soon”. I asked if my husband would get a job offer.
What I really liked in this instance was the cards and the way they fell. With the WOF in position one was the two of pentacles. The two of pentacles is all about the delicate balance of things, and juggling your life to maintain some form of balance. My husband getting a job offer that would require us to move (which is what we’ve been hoping for) would become quite a balancing act. I also see this card possibly indicating a negotiation. My husband falls into position 2 as the King of Swords. Next to the king is the eight of pentacles which shows a craftsman hard at work and proudly displaying his finished product. The eight also implies learning a new skill (like an apprenticeship) and having a propensity for detail. These are all things that are required of my husband due to the nature of the work he does. In the 3rd position, we have Death which indicates change – a death and a re-birth. Again, this would be indeed an accurate depiction of what would take place when this finally comes to pass. After the rebirth, comes the ten of pentacles, which shows the prosperous and comfortable family. The final position contains the Queen of Cups (which could be myself) with the Ace of Swords. The ace swords is all about cutting through confusion and bringing clarity and truth to a situation. It’s also about finding resolution. The Ace of Swords can also represent the Fall, which leads me to believe that I have my timing for when all this will come to completion.
After this I also did a gypsy spread which I may post at another time. Much to my chagrin, it was warning me about my obsession with this issue and that it is possibly impacting my health (my cards are keen on the obvious, lol) but that ultimately all would be resolved and that this is part of a lesson. The universe will provide. I’m also being cautious after my inital error in interpreting my Lenormand and watching my Heart closely to ensure that he hasn’t become ill again. Personally I hope it’s just teething, lol…

Hi Lacontessa,
This is such a good Yes/No spread – I’ve seen it used with the Tarot d’Eltynne as well and it seems so much more sensible than many of the yes/no spreads for tarot cards.
I hope that the cards are right and that your husband will get a job offer very soon!

Hi Sammie!
I like this one too! I don’t have the Tarot d’Eltynne although I have been seriously considering adding it to my collection. I liked the way hat Chanah had taylored this spread to that deck. It seemed to be quite logical…
Thanks for stopping!
