I thought I might give this a go. Please let me know what you think.
Special thanks are extended to my “Guinea Pig” for this experiment. I could not do what I do without your unwavering support of my efforts…
In this reading I am looking for the fox. The querent was concerned that her lover was hiding something from her. I shuffle and cut the cards.
Dealing from the top of my pack, I will lay rows of five cards until I locate the fox. In this case the reading was very neat. The Man fell in line with the fox which confirmed that this person was in fact hiding something.
Now I can begin interpretation of the cards. To me the Lily is very significant here because it can reperesent a lover (though usually male). With the presence of the fish my impression is that this is more of an emotional affair and that it did not move forward into the physical realm. There are also no other supporting person cards. The Querent’s lover may have been at a crossroads and may have even wanted to move forward, but the fox is blocking this path, signifying that the Man realizes that it would be the wrong decision to make.

Nice post! The video shows your method very well. Do you only read the five cards that share a row with the key card?

Thank you! Very often I will read the other rows especially if something catches my eye. Sometimes it will give information about the querent or their frame of mind. Other times I will get some background to the question. It depends – it doesn’t always work out that way. I’ll see about trying to make up another example. I think that might also be helpful.
Appreciate the feedback and question!

Hi Contessa,
It’s very helpful to see your method in action! Thank you!
Have you tried focusing on more than one key card with this spread? I bet it would work really well with multiple key cards too. I’m looking forward to seeing the other example you have in mind.

Hi Kaph,
Yes, I have focused on more than one card and it’s been effective. That is part of the reason I am thinking about adding a second (duplicate) deck. I haven’t quite worked out in my mind yet how I would set priority or if I would even need too.
I’m hoping another good opportunity presents itself for the next example. This first one fell into place so nicely…
Thanks for your feedback! Very happy to know that this has been helpful.
