I have:

Bear – Paths – Ring – Sun – House

Bear generally means an official, though the bear can have a lot of other meanings.  Since the bear’s partner is the house, it makes me think a real estate agent but the bear is also coupled with the paths, so it could simply be a decision about a house (viewing the house as a possesion using the bear).  There’s also a decision to be made regarding a relationship or contract (paths + ring) and there’s good fortune around this (sun).  Whatever it is it will bring luck to the house (sun + house).

This is a very straightforward reading.  Sadly I know of no one who’s buying a home, lol…  I guess I’ll have to wait and see.  I looked at the bottom of the deck and my card was the dog so it is probably a friend, possibly male.

Tada!

Update: It (very ironically) turns out that one of the people in our IT department who was trying to help me today (9/19) mentioned during casual conversation that he and his future wife are house hunting.  They had made an offer on a home they liked and expected to hear back today.  Going with your first impression tends to give you a correct answer in life, and cards are no different.  It’s also important to recognize that different people read the same cards to mean different things!  That doesn’t mean one way is better than another – it’s quite the contrary!  When we shut ourselves off to suggestions and advice from others, we essentially shut off the learning process, and that’s the bad thing!

I thought tonight I would again try something different.  This time (for me) it is totally new.  To divert myself from the repetitive messages about affairs and jobs, I would ask “Who is here and how are you?”

What do I mean?  Well, I believe you are never really alone (even when you think you are).  Ever so often I like to ask if there is anyone visiting us from the other side.  I have always felt strongly that I am watched over by my “ancestors”.  Some people “visit” me more often than others, and I can tell very easily that they are around.  But enough of this for the moment – here is the draw:

Ship - Dog - Fish - Child - Lady

Ship - Dog - Fish - Child - Lady

As soon as I placed the last card I understood the message clearly.  To some degree some of what I will say here is a break from tradition and is more in tune with my perception so bear with me…

The ship and the dog tell me this is a friend who has come a great distance to visit.  My friend (dog) is a Pisces (fish) and so is the child, who in this case would be me (I will explain further in a moment).  The child is a relative of the Lady, who is my friend that is visiting.  The lady is foreign (lady + ship) or comes from a far away place.  Now note the Dog and the Child – the Dog is watching the child and is separated by the fish – the friendly lady has always watched the child from a distance (I also noted the ship in the background of the fish card).  The lady is my maternal Grandmother.

My mother’s mother passed away many years before I was born, which I have always been sad about.  She came to the US from Italy as a child.  She and I apparently had many things in common beside the same Sun sign.  She was a very good writer (which I was back when I was a more avid reader), loved to laugh, was musically inclined and also read cards.  We have the same hair color, and I also have her eyes.  These are just a few examples given to me over the years…

My grandmother used to visit me as a child around twilight.  I suffered great anxiety before bed and she comforted me.  I used to call her the blue fairy, because she wore a blue dress (as does the Lady in the deck I chose).  As an adult I wondered how I would respond if she came to visit me again, and two years ago I got my wish.  Sadly for me, I was not ready.  But I was very comforted again to know that she still watched over me and would come to me if she felt I needed her.  I think about her often these days.  She had wanted very much to have a son but was not able to.  I am blessed with a wonderful boy who will be one in a matter of days.  So I am even happier to know that she has come to see me again, and let me know in a way that is not so startling.

Ti amo, Nonna
